Editorial Policy

Our commitment to independence, accuracy, and transparency in how we evaluate brokers.

Independence

The Broker Transparency Index is an independent research project. We do not accept sponsorship, affiliate commissions, or promotional fees from any broker listed in our directory. BTI scores are determined solely by the presence and depth of publicly available disclosures.

No broker can pay to improve their score. No broker can pay to be excluded or included. The only way to improve a BTI score is to publish more transparent information publicly.

Broker Selection

Brokers included in the BTI directory are selected based on:

  • Market presence and recognition among retail forex/CFD traders
  • Regulatory status in at least one recognized jurisdiction
  • Availability of a public-facing English-language website
  • Sufficient public information to evaluate against BTI criteria

We aim to cover the brokers most commonly encountered by retail traders. Suggestions for new broker additions can be submitted through our Contact page.

Data Sources

All BTI evaluations are based exclusively on publicly available information. We use:

  • Broker websites (pages accessible without account registration)
  • Published legal and regulatory documents
  • Regulatory body databases (for license verification)
  • Published execution quality reports (where available)

We do not use information obtained through trading accounts, private communications, or undisclosed sources. Every claim in a broker profile should be verifiable through the public links provided.

Scoring Consistency

All brokers are evaluated using the same scoring methodology. The same criteria and point allocation apply regardless of the broker’s size, reputation, or market position. The BTI Research Team reviews all scores for consistency before publication.

Corrections Process

We take accuracy seriously. If you identify an error in any broker profile:

  1. Submit a correction request via our Contact page or email corrections@brokertransparencyindex.com
  2. Include the specific claim that requires correction
  3. Provide a public source supporting the correction
  4. We will review and respond within 5 business days

All corrections are logged in the Changelog with the date and nature of the change.

Conflicts of Interest

The BTI Research Team does not hold trading accounts with any broker currently under evaluation. If a conflict of interest arises, it will be disclosed on the relevant broker profile page and here in this policy.

Current disclosures: None.
